Dr. Joel Carnevale is an Associate Professor of Management at Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management. He earned his Ph.D. in Organizational Studies, Strategy and Change from the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business at Auburn University in 2017. Primarily interested in the interpersonal dynamics that shape organizational members' thoughts, feelings, and behaviors at work, his current research centers on three areas: leadership, creative reputations, and behavioral ethics.
Professor Carnevale's research has appeared in several notable academic journals, including Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Business Research, among others. His work has also appeared in popular media outlets including Bloomberg News, Fast Company, Business Insider, WebMD, Entrepreneur, and TIME. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Whitman Research Fellowship (2023-2025) and Guttag Junior Faculty Award (2021-2023) from the Whitman School of Management. In addition to his faculty appointment at Syracuse University, he also serves as the Director of Outreach for the Network of Leadership Scholars, an Entrepreneur Leadership Network Contributor at Entrepreneur Media, and former Associate Editor of Journal of Business Ethics and Journal of Business Research. |
